Physical Therapy

Michigan allows you to begin physical therapy without a physician referral for up to 10 visits or 21 days, whichever comes first. However, insurance plans generally require a referral in order to pay for physical therapy. If you plan to use insurance, we recommend obtaining a referral before starting. Contact us if you’re unsure and we can help determine what your plan requires.

We participate with most major insurance plans, including Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Priority Health, Aetna, and more. See our full list on the Insurance page. If you don’t see your plan listed, call us and we’ll help determine whether we participate with your specific plan

Treatment sessions typically last 30 to 60 minutes per visit.

Wear comfortable clothing that lets you move easily and gives access to the area being treated. For example, shorts for knee or hip issues, or a tank top or loose shirt for shoulder or neck issues. Athletic shoes are recommended.

Please bring your completed patient forms, your insurance card, a photo ID, and your referral or prescription if you have one. A list of your current medications is also helpful.

Your first visit starts with a conversation about your history, symptoms, and goals. Your therapist will then assess things like movement, strength, and how your body is functioning, and explain what they find. Together, you’ll build a plan that fits your needs, and in most cases you’ll start treatment and leave with exercises to do at home.

Performance Training

Not at all. Our programs are for anyone who wants to get stronger and move better, from high school athletes to active adults.

No. Performance training is self-pay, since it focuses on building strength and performance rather than treating an injury. Call us for program options and pricing.

No. If you’re injured, we’ll recommend starting with PT. If you’re healthy, you can start performance training right away.
